Google Sky Map application is clearly a perfect example of how technology can facilitate scientific interest, education, learning, exploration, and fascination. When I have Sky Map open and in my hand, I feel like a powerful astronomer. For my first data with my girlfriend three years ago, I purchased a star gazing book and we sat under the sky. We made a commendable effort to identify constellations, but it was pretty challenging, and we were unsuccessful for many constellations. Now if I would have had google sky map on my phone, our date would have been even greater than it was.
